What is a shortboard? What is it used for?

The shortboard is a shortened spine board. The tightest spaces, such as the compressed interiors of cars, may no longer allow the use of a 1.85 cm long spine board. In order to immobilize patients in the cervical spine area as best as possible, our 80 cm long shortboard is the ideal addition.

Technical data:
Length = 80 cm
Thickness = 1.2 cm (thinnest rescue board on the market)
Weight = 1.8 kg
Max. load capacity = 250 kg
width = 44 cm
Material = WPB phenolic wood panels
Surface protection: acrylic polyurethane coating
6x carrying handles and 2x mounting holes all around

In patient-oriented rescue, time is of the essence and it is important to avoid further damage to the patient during rescue. In order to achieve these two core goals in an accident rescue, the equipment used must be quick and easy to use.

Why our shortboard?

Our shortboard from RescateJota impresses experienced professionals in technical rescue with its extremely slim design and high-quality material. At just 1.2 cm thick, it is the thinnest rescue board on the market, which can be crucial for rescue in the tightest of spaces, such as accident vehicles.

Our shortboard is made of phenolic wood panels. The natural raw material, wood, allows a weight of only 1.8 kg, but still a maximum load capacity of 250 kg. This is also possible thanks to the ergonomic, curved shape.
The phenolic wood is additionally protected by an acrylic polyurethane layer, which makes the board even more durable, water-repellent and X-ray-permeable (MRI & CT). And of course the wooden board provides buoyancy in the water.

Our wooden shortboard has no limited lifespan, unlike plastic alternatives
